Well, I think I've moved from horrible painter, up to bad painter status. Here's the reference I used, then below is the painting. And this time, people could actually tell what/who I had painted.... It's my friend Tyler.
I like the simplicity of this! It kind of looks like a cartoon, yet realistic at the same time. You did a really great job with the shading and the colors. To make this better you could add a light background color so the highlights would stand out more.
I think you did a great job with this painting, and I especially like the shading you did. I wonder if darkening the eyes a bit would give it better place for the eyes to rest though.
